Kashmir, Tri-colored Sheltie, 1992 - 2003
Our
Best Girl, and our First Girl, left behind a large empty space on Wednesday,
August 27. Arthritis had limited
her mobility in the last couple years, old age muted her hearing, but sudden and
aggressive cancer robbed her of her life. She
was eased into rest by her loving and grieving owners, Carolyn and Shawn Belisle.
We couldn’t stand to see her suffer further.
She’s
been a loving and loyal friend her entire 12 years of life.
“Miss Congeniality”, per her obedience instructor, never met a person
or another animal that she didn’t like. Nor
did she ever come across a game she didn’t want to play, even running herself
out of her pads if we didn’t limit play time and call it quits.
Calm
and gentle, she’s always been great with children. Curious and adventurous, she never passed up an opportunity
to slip her leash and go out and explore the world. Fortunately we always found her and brought her home.
If
there is a place in the Creator’s Universe for dog souls, then surely our
Kashmir is there now. A place where
it is always time for Frisbee, and you never get tired and have to quit the
game.
We’ll
miss you Kashmir!
There will never be another dog like you!

There is no mountain, fell, or mead
too steep to cross on bended knee
No storm too dark to weather through
No path o'er grown to cloud my view
from thy dear face, where love doth dwell
though sickness bind thee, I shall tell
that thee, my friend shall always be
one shining star to comfort me
no matter where thy journey ends
or where our souls shall meet again
I'll know thee then, and thou, know'st me
and nothing, not the blinding rain nor tempest sea
shall keep me from thy soul divine
nor keep my heart now one-- made twine.

You filled our lives for nearly 15 years. We always came home knowing that you would doing something funny to make us laugh. We are just so very happy that we were able to have you for one last Christmas. Watching you open your own presents and play with your new toys was the greatest joy in the world. We will miss you so much. We will see you one day again. We love you so very much.
